Climate Community
For SMEs aiming to enhance their climate action

Impactful climate action through the power of community
The purpose of the Climate Community is to give long-term support to SMEs on their journey towards effective climate action.
The Climate Community is the next step building on the successful Climate Programme, through which hundreds of SMEs have already received concrete support to start their climate work. In the Climate Community, this work continues and deepens to a more advanced level.
Membership in the Climate Community is free of charge and provides training, tools, and practical support for calculating value chain emissions (Scope 3). In addition to training on emission calculation, members gain expert support, regulation updates, and thematic training on various sustainability topics.
The Community is a platform for sharing knowledge and seeking solutions together with other companies aiming for more sustainable business. It brings together SMEs from across Finland, covering a wide range of industries. The community is designed to continue for years, with new companies joining annually.
The Climate Community starts operations in autumn 2025 with 142 SMEs. Companies have applied to join the Community primarily to overcome challenges in calculating Scope 3 emissions, to strengthen their competitive advantage, to stay informed of the latest developments, and to better prepare for future market and regulatory requirements.
Support and tools provided by the Climate Community:
- Scope 3 training, helping your company meet the requirements of emissions accounting and report credibly.
- Online carbon footprint calculator, supporting annual reporting.
- Carbon Footprint Calculated label, free of charge for companies that have calculated their carbon footprint (covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions).
- Advanced online training on climate and sustainability topics, such as climate risk management, responsible marketing, and biodiversity.
- Peer support and sparring from the network – you can share experiences, get valuable insights from other companies, and find new collaboration opportunities.
- The possibility of getting preliminary statements on environmental claims, helping your company avoid greenwashing, and strengthening the credibility of sustainability communications.
- Two annual networking events in Helsinki, deepening cooperation and strengthening your company’s climate work.
The Climate Community for SMEs is coordinated by the Finland Chamber of Commerce. Participation in the Climate Community is free but requires commitment and active participation.
